I’ll be completely honest and raw in today’s post. I’m publishing what I write straight away. No proof-reading for spell check or grammar check.
Today’s post is short and sweet.
I want to share a personal life story about a failure I endured early in my life (or what I assumed was a failure but was, in fact, a turning point.)
I’ve shared this earlier on my LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter.
You see, I failed my 6th class mid-term Algebra paper.
I was embarrassed.
After all, as a 12 year old, being in school meant so much about proving myself to others that the very thought of me being made fun of by my classmates and friends made me think I’m a loser.
Don’t get me wrong, I was always a straight-A kid.
What happened to me, I thought.
The reason was simple – I hadn’t slept at all the night before exam and this made me dizzy throughout the day.
I decided I was better than this.
I studied hard for my finals and learned from my mistake.
Slept a good 9 hours before final exam and managed to score a full 50/50!
Remembering this makes me smile today.
I know that my goals are important but it’s also important to look after my health and wellness.
Instead of assuming I failed, I looked at that event as a learning curve. It serves me endlessly to this day!
No matter what goes down in life, I get to choose how to interpret it.
How an event, a fall, a stumble will infact shape the larger story of my life.
Choosing to change perspectives made me back myself up in becoming a stronger, better and smarter person than before.
And this quote by Nelson Mandela proves my point.

Yess! ✨💯❤️
Raw and honest wins the day! ❤️👍🏽
Thank you!
learn from our failures!
Absolutely!
Great raw post. I failed my Maths GCSE first time round due to undiagnosed dyspraxic difficulties. I didn’t give up either, I re-did the test the following year and passed it, enabling me to successfully progress through to university. It’s great to hear you were so determined too 😊
I’m glad to hear you had a similar experience. One thing I learned was to never give up ‘cuz in the end it’s only our thoughts stopping us from taking that leap of confidence.
Great thoughts there. Thank you for liking my article https://aginternetclinic.com/when-the-belt-is-too-tight/
